a quote and a question

“Life is not orderly. No matter how we try to make life so, right in the middle of it we die, lose a leg, fall in love, drop a jar of applesauce.”

Natalie Goldberg

What if we stopped forcing the idea of ‘orderly’ into our lives and aimed instead to balance rhythm with adaptation and excitement?

That definitely sounds like what I am aiming for. “Orderly” is so stifling. Balance is a much more freeing goal.

How true! I needed this quote right now. With the addition of another little one I was thinking my life was a little out of control. Maybe I need to step back and enjoy the excitement of it all.

I don’t know; I like a sense of order. It is this general order that allows me to better deal with the unexpected in life or take advantage of fun opportunities that arise.
