Melting frost

To love deeply in one direction makes us more loving in all others.

What is the magnetic north of your love right now?

Oh, Sarah, what a quote. I’ll be thinking about this one for awhile. It reminds me of Bernard of Clairvaux, who said, “That which we love we shall grow to resemble.”

    • Sarah says:

It’s the roof of our car, frosted by the night but being warmed by the sunrise. Lovely where we can find delight when we’re looking, isn’t it?

I think my north is spending more quality time with my children As someone who has always homeschooled, I find that I can easily take for granted, the time I am with my children. I get wrapped up in the chores, and the work, and the schooling. But, I have recently been more aware of the limited time I have with them. That these days of being together will not last forever. As I think about it now, my heart breaks. I really love my children. I really love who they are and I really want them to know that and love themselves, too. Who knew parenting was so beautifully painful?
