I begin this month-long celebration of those L-shaped wonders that keep feet warm all through winter with two goals:
1. Finish the pair of socks I have on the go for Rainer
2. Knit my first pair of knee socks
I don’t usually swatch for socks, but I don’t want – horror – saggy knee socks. So swatching is happening. I am loving the yarn and its handspun-like colour transitions.

Amazing what light you can find even on a dark and rainy day if you are willing to carry a tiny bit of knitting all over the house.
Go knee socks go!! Loving that yarn, matches nicely with your banner 🙂
Beautiful!
I find the idea of knitting knee socks a tad intimidating – maybe I’ll be so inspired by yours I’ll have to cast on a pair! I’m hoping for one complete pair of socks by the end of the month. 🙂
This is just what I needed this morning! I’m learning to knit right now, and while I’m so excited to actually be able to stitch, I’m a long way (think starting with 15 rows and up to 35 and growing) from actually making anything. When I see beautiful creations in progress, however, I get totally inspired to keep at it!
ooooh you are making me want to unpack my sock yarn!!! (or at least pick the toe out of my Stained Glass sock and add some more rounds…sigh…)
What are you knee socks going to look like? Cables? Lace? Inquiring minds need to know!
Love the colorway. Knee socks are exciting!
