A Quote and a Question

Character contributes to beauty.  It fortifies a woman as her youth fades.  A mode of conduct, a standard of courage, discipline, fortitude and integrity can do a great deal to make a woman beautiful.

Jacqueline Bisset

Who do you know that shines from an inner strength?

  1. Kris says:

Two people come to mind; my grandmother
Amelia(91) who is faithful, loving, respectful,
    adventerous, accepting,
    content, and intelligent.
And my friend Meadow (39) who has all
the same attributes at a much younger
    age. Both real jewels.

  2. Sarah says:

Rose Gonzales. She changed my life. I met her in Idaho when I was nineteen. She’s an older cowgirl who cowgirled out in the rough country of Idaho back when girls just didn’t do that. She was gentle and tough and smart and understanding and I was so lucky to meet her when I did, at a crucial point in my life.

I’ve often wondered, though, if that would *not* have been a crucial point in my life, a time when I began to take more personal responsibility and look at life in a different way, if I had not met her. Maybe that ‘crucial point’ would have just drifted past as I just kept on living my life on cruise control, never realizing that I’d passed up a chance to be more, to be better.
