It’s Christmas Eve. That’s the big day for Rainer since he’s German, but we do most of our celebrating in the Canadian fashion. So our family has created a strange but special tradition of having a sushi supper and then opening the presents from the German grandparents. This year, we’ll be adding to our evening as we brought Printen cookies all the way from Aachen, where they are a local specialty, for eating while the carols play and the candles flicker.
Frohe Weinachten! I am remembering nostalgically Christmasses spent in Austria…Do you sing Stille Nacht on Christmas Eve?
Merry Christmas! Mutlu Yillar (Turkish for Happy New Year!)
