Quotes and a Question

No matter what somersaults my mind turned, I couldn’t separate these two quotes today. They are far apart in my quotes journal, but neighbours in my mind.

“No matter how much I try to be plain, people don’t accept me, so I might as well be fabulous.” Austin Scarlett

“We wouldn’t worry so much about what people think of us if we only knew how seldom they did.” Mark Twain

Is it time to stop editing a facet of yourself? Is there something to set free?

Man, that Mark Twain quote should be required memorization for all kids! I felt crippled by worry my whole life until one day it hit me, I didn’t think about other people, I only thought about what they thought of me. So, why would anyone else be thinking about me? Does that make sense? What a weight off when I realized it! I can be myself and don’t worry if someone thinks the way I live my life or raise my kids is ‘weird” because even if they think that, chances are, two minutes later they will be back to thinking of themselves. Thanks for the quotes.

Wonderful quotes… and food for thought. But again, you win me with the photo… that is a stunning photo… the excellent smoothness of the graphic b/w lines of the tights against the slightly offset horizontal lines of the rugged and softened boards. Yep. Nice.

    Hi
Thanks for stopping by my blog….glad to have discovered yours! I’ll only be by the ocean for a few more weeks as I head back to Central California after Xmas……
…..also a homeschooler by the way (although my kids are having a temorary school period whilst we are in Shetland….but with only 5 others kids in the school it’s almost like homeschooling)

Love the quotes! Definitely thought provoking. There are definitely facets of myself that I have edited in the past. Thankfully at this point in life I feel more confident in myself than ever before. I do still edit some times unfortunately.
