When it rains, I am thankful for it and curl up with tea and a good book, reading and daydreaming of how the garden will grow.

When it rains, as it has done a lot this last Winter, we enjoy lots and lots of boardgames, build our lives around the fire and then most days we also need to just get out into it. It’s never as bad as it sounds on the roof inside.

As it rains very often here in England, the natives just ignore it and get on with life! I’m learning to follow suit, and not ‘wait’ for a sunny day for a walk, as around here you can wait along time! So we just put on a ‘waterproof’ and head on out as if it was the sunniest day ever! We rarely get stormy days and thunder is a very infreguent thing, so we walk and enjoy the soft rains!

I always try to open the nearest door or window just to hear the sound.

On rainy days I like to bake something (cookies are always welcome), read a book or watch a movie.

I was thinking about this quote again, and I realized when it rains *inside* my life, I tend to either barrel through it, grabbing any ‘umbrella’ (friends, family, faith, french fries) I can, or i simply trudge along, getting soaked to the depths of my soul. Somewhere there is a middle road of walking slowly, holding the umbrella gently, and trying to see what can be only seen in rainy times.

I just found your blog & am loving it!! I live in the desert. When it rains, I run outside & dance in it (bringing along my 4 home-schooled kids to dance with me, of course).
