Inspired by Lolly, I’ve been having fun using up the day getting all my knitting into little grids. What a process it’s been! I had no idea I’d made so many projects this year.
6 Sweaters
1. 365:33 Dahlia front, 2. Dahlia detail, 3. smocked sweater, 4. smocking, 5. Paprika, 6. Paprika buttons, 7. Aleita Shell, 8. Aleita Shell, 9. P1100072, 10. “afterthought” cables, 11. Breskens Scoop , 12. Breskens Scoop close-up
The Smocked Sweater was a great disappointment, and I have yet to decide if I will frog it, give it to a friend who fits it, or attack it with my sewing machine and shears. The Breskens Scoop, knit up with the leftovers from the Aleita Shell, will probably be frogged because there is a poochiness under the arms and the yarn is so incredibly awesome that it deserves to be a tiny sweater I love to wear. Paprika was the best thing I’ve ever knit, in terms of comfort and style. Both Sandra and Rainer loved getting sweaters, and I’ll have to make sure such knit-worthy loved ones are clothed properly in the future.
7 Mittens and a Scarf
1. Garter stitch mittens, 2. Winter Photography mittens, 3. 365:321, 4. Very Cabley Mittens, 5. Rainer’s Mittens, 6. twin rib mittens, 7. Lace Ribbon Scarf, 8. Warming up
A very mitten-ish year. I hadn’t realized. And there are a pair of Malabrigo handwarmers I’m wearing right now that I’ve never taken a picture of…so that would make it 8 pairs.
8 Hats
1. Portland baby set, 2. Meret, 3. Meret, 4. toque, 5. Rainer’s Swell, 6. accessories set, 7. P1090662, 8. Buzzbee, 9. Rollin’ Baby Beret, 10. Foliage
Hats. I love ‘em. Fast and fabulous. We really should have more of them. I’d love to have so many that if a cold friend came over, I could send her home with a hat. I’m going to buy Going Straight with some Christmas money. And a project or two of my Personal Yarn Club is hattish.
8 Pairs of Socks
1. Galactically crazy socks, 2. Nutkins done, 3. 365:244, 4. Brugge Canal Socks, 5. Waffle Rib Socks go to the beach, 6. 365:153, 7. Portland baby set, 8. 365:133, 9. 365:117, 10. Bellatrix/Mrs. Weasley socks
Never have too many knitted socks. Therefore, need more. My Mrs. Weasley socks are my favourites to wear – lovely colours and thicker yarn than most of mine. Great for visually and physically warming me up.
And there were a few that fit no categories:
Mimi from Knitty
an Artist Trading Card
and felted clogs for Gramma.
That makes 34 projects in 2008. How satisfying and wonderful to see them all grouped together!

You made some really beautiful stuff. Happy new year!
Holy Cow!
That is a lot of knitting(:
How do you ever get so much done?
Cheers to you!
Happy New Year
Beautiful knitting. Hi, just started reading your blog as I heard about it on Ravelry. I’m a homeschooling mum too.
Happy new year.
Wow I am blown away!
Lovely knitting.
Also need to compliment you on the great photography and creativity in taking those photos.

Wow, wow, and WOW! Your work is just spectacular!
I have been following your blog for awhile… don’t remember where I heard about it now… but I’ve got to say: what an amazing amount of knitting!
*faint*
That is some impressive knitting! WTG, Sarah!
I ran across your blog the other day and enjoyed so many things! Your knitting is just beautiful! I love that you are preserving the homemade, and with such a beautiful quality of work!
I wanted to let you know – maybe I’m doing this backwards and should have asked you first – but I posted a couple of links to your posts on my blog last night. I loved your thoughts on being content with the mother that I am and I wanted to share them. I gave you full credit.
I also plan to post your link for handmade gift ideas. What a wonderful source you put together and what terrific examples you shared. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
I’ll be back to visit often.

*sigh* I wonder if I will ever figure out how to knit something besides a scarf.
Your projects are just lovely.
The red sweater you made from the tutorial is the only sweater that has ever made me want to knit myself a sweater. Could you write out the pattern?
